Riverbend Ohio Blue (Blue Clarage) Corn Malt

Product Description

Floor-mallted right here in Asheville, NC

Ohio Blue (Blue Clarage) corn malt originated from Edmund Clarridge's early 20th century innovation—an enhanced semi-dent yellow variety bred for quick maturation to combat early frosts. This superior strain offered improved yields and disease resistance, while its rich, sweet profile attracted widespread agricultural adoption and distiller interest for whiskey production. The malt delivers a distinctive rich, nutty profile reminiscent of almond flour with subtle fruit undertones. Consider pairing it in a Cream Ale with berry-forward hops such as Ekuanot, Belma, or Aramis for complementary flavor notes. Despite its striking pink appearance, this characteristic becomes significantly diluted when used at the recommended 10-20% inclusion rate in brewing applications.

This product comes milled.
