"We are a family-owned and operated business with a wholehearted devotion to our customers and the craft."

Asheville Brewers Supply opened on April Fool's Day, 1994, and we have spent the last 20-odd years learning more and more about brewing, winemaking, and distilling, and about how to show folks how it's done. We proudly offer the area's largest and most extensive supply of quality ingredients and equipment for the fermenting enthusiast, and we are the only local shop wholly devoted to homebrewing that offers free homebrew classes, workshops, and Brewers Socials! Asheville Brewers Supply is also a proud sponsor of MALT, the local homebrew club.

We do two free brewing classes every month, one for extract brewing and one for all-grain. These are a great way to see it done, learn some tips n tricks, ask questions, and meet fellow brewers! Stay up to date these events through our News blog or social media.

So who are we really? Well, ABS was founded by Andy Dahm, a pioneer of craft beer in Asheville. He still works in the industry running French Broad Brewery in Historic Biltmore Village (you should definitely try their Kolsch and Wee Heavier!). On January 1st, 2015, Andy sold the biz to shop manager, Tedd Clevenger. On most days, you'll find Tedd slinging grain and talking fermenting, often accompanied by his dog, Brewski, and wife, Katy (who has a real job, but loves helping out and talking with our friends/customers). He also runs a website on the side---bikesnbrews.net---devoted to his two favorite pastimes.

Currently also on staff is Mr. Tom Athos, a veteran from the Days of Dahm, a lover of orchids, and owner of chihuahuas. You can ask him about sake production; he makes a darn good one!

We're also pleased to have Mr. Ian Yancich (no, we can't pronounce the last name either). Ian supposedly comes from New Orleans, yet lacks the accent; we're not convinced. Ian is also the country's leading advocate for wearing plaid year-round. After spending time as assistant brewer at a thirsty Belgian-inspired brewery, he is also now the head brewer for Mad Co Brewing in Marshall, NC.

So come by, and let's get to know each other. Prost!
